An introduction to playing Russian Solitaire

Look at the complete hand before deciding. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Work at your own pace. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns. Use another round to revisit a decision.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

A small practice goal

Use the rule sheet as a reference. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

The objective of a round

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use another round to revisit a decision. Begin with the objective.

How a round unfolds

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Move exposed cards onto suit foundations in the stated rank order.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Your inputs

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Before making a move, check the cards in view.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Pay attention to this rule

Keep the active rule in mind. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.
